HippyChicKim BEFORE : After working with Dr. Mark Grimsley for a year, I decided it was time to go under the laser! So Here's my journey through an "extreme" fractional resurfacing. I had some problem areas that I wanted Dr. Grimsley to address. This required a more aggressive treatment. It did hurt a bit but the cool air helped a lot and the pain subsided fairly quickly. The worse part was the swollen face and skin...he did my eyes [with an eye protection under my lids] so my eyes were quite puffy and tender from the swollen skin. I used cold towels to sooth and still keep my face totally moisturized with Priori. Day two my face started to go down and start to shed the burned layer of skin. Much better on day 3. I woke and steamed my face with a warm washcloth and was able to free myself of more tight, dead skin...the layer underneath is red but so smooth...of course, I'm still swolllen...Day 4 getting better all the time...steamed my face in the morning with washcloth and patted away more dead skin...shedding all the old stuff! Swelling went down a lot. Cheeks still feel a little puffy but that's an area that was aggressively treated. Skin still feels tight and I continually use moisturizer. Day 5 - Getting better all the time...most of dead skin has peeled off...still sticking around my eyes/crows feet area. Day 6 - Feeling much much better - all the tight skin sensation gone - just a few places where skin is flaky. Swelling pretty much gone.
